The Few, The Proud

As I play catch up with everyone, I do want to post some of the important things that just recently happened. My nephew Christopher went into the USMC boot camp on January 5, 2009. It’s a brutal 12 week training course, the toughest there is. He was 18 years old when he first stepped on MCRD grounds and had the joy of celebrating his 19th birthday with all his fellow recruits and Drill Instructors on Jan. 30th, LOL. Well, he graduated on my birthday, April 3rd, just a few weeks ago. I can not tell you how proud of him I am. My family is very important to me and ALL my nieces and nephews are like my children, so it was a very special day to see my Christopher marching with 478 other fellow recruits at MCRD, San Diego. Yes, there were 479 graduating marines that day. God bless all of them and the paths they take to help protect and fight for our country, the United States of America. Of course I had my camera in tow and got some great shots, which I will post soon. For now, here’s some pics of how my little christopher used to be…
